BECOMING INVOLVED WITH HEALTHY PLANET INITIATIVES
We encourage people to become involved with HPI at what ever level is comfortable to them, even if this only means receiving our newsletter. Generally we have a potluck/discussion meeting every other month (fun!), and a public presentation on an environmental topic on alternate months. Work and planning is generally done by e-mail or in small groups. You can even help out from home.
We wish to support people’s environmental interests and efforts. Let us know if there is something you wish to work on. And please consider helping us with current projects and interests listed below.
The “core group” (those participants who have attended a significant number of meetings, or have done work on behalf of HPI) makes decisions. Chairperson, Christine Missik, keeps things organized.
Current efforts include:
Green Tips These are published weekly in the Advocate Messenger. We are also planning to publish in other locales. We can always use subjects for photos, help with taking photos, and help with writing.
Healthy Planet Initiatives E-mail Newsletter This is a compilation of local bulletins, green information, suggestions and opinions from members. This is free for anyone interested in the environment who would like to be on our list.
