Using the United Natural Foods Ordering Software

Search Feature

You can search for a product by manufacturer and/or type of product in the advanced search. The underlined blue number is the product code. If you click on it, you'll then see the ingredients and nutrition label if available.

Ordering

To order, you will need to have received a user name, password and Website address from Mark de Araujo. 

On the UNFI home page ( http://www.unfi.com ) go to button #1 and from the pull-down menu for warehouse choose:  Greenwood, IN. For button #2. enter user name:  xxxxxxx, and button #3. enter password: xxxxxxx

Once you have logged on, click on "view baskets". You can see any items you have already ordered. If you toggle the "my order" button to  "splitting cases," you'll see the items that you and others want to split. You add items to order from either page.

The horizontal bar in the middle of the page is where you enter a product code and how many you want. If want part of a case or bulk amount, you check "split" and indicate how many (packages, ounces, or pounds) you want out of the case. Bulk items are split by entering the number of pounds or ounces you want. (IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that when ordering whole case amounts, "
1" means one case, but in the split mode "1" means one item or one lb. out of the case.) If you're willing to take more in order to make getting the item more feasible, put that amount in the "more" box. (Some items say M3, requiring a minimum order of 3. If you don't really want 3, you can ask others if they want the extras at pickup. Mark de Araujo, our coordinator, then shifts the cost to the other person's invoice.)

You can also click the underlined blue number (product code) of an item already in the split basket to add it to your order.

You can access what is on sale in the PDF Buying Club News by clicking on "Buying Club Catalogs". Keep in mind the sale cycles don't always end and begin on the 1st of the month.

Order Due Dates

Members receive an e-mail with the dates when Split Orders and Whole Case Orders are due and the time and date of the Pick-up. (The Delivery date can also be found on the UNFI website in the PDF Buying Club News by clicking on "Buying Club Catalogs". It is usually on the second or 3rd page of the catalog. We are week 1, which is the week the order is delivered, which lately has usually been on the Tuesday of that week at 8 a.m. The orders are always due the Monday [splits] and Tuesday [whole case] of the week before the order comes in.) 

You can also go to http://www.unitedbuyingclubs.com/forms/ViewDeliveryTime.aspx and put our buying club number (#30838) to get the date and time of the delivery. 

All items in the Split Basket are ordered by the coordinator every four weeks on Monday morning. The total combined order for individual items is compiled the following morning. If there are not enough people to order something, (such as a cumulative order of only 2 lbs out of a 25 lb bag), Mark doesn't order it. If you look at the split list at the end of Monday on order day, you may see some items have disappeared from list, which tells you it wasn't ordered and you may want to pick it up elsewhere. 

Whole Case Orders are due on the next day, a Tuesday morning. Individuals do not click on the "confirm order" button. Only the coordinator, Mark de Araujo, places and confirms the combined order to United Natural Foods.

Once you have an account and items in your baskets, you don't have to do anything else to finalize your order.
